This past week nearly 50 kids in the Tulsa area were riding the waves at Forest Park’s Vacation Bible School, Surf Shack, each night from Sunday through Thursday.  The kids, ranging in age from PreK through sixth grade, had a blast learning Biblical lessons and celebrating everything beach!  Each evening the kids would begin at the Surf Shack with an intro from Skipper Toni and Crabby in which they learned about the theme for the night and sang a few songs with the Tidal Wave Girls.  They then broke into small groups to hear the Bible story for the evening, complete a craft, play a game and have a snack.  All elements of the evening related to the lesson for the day and of course the beach/surf theme.  Finally they concluded each night by coming back together at the Surf Shack to hear a summary of the lesson from Skipper Toni and Crabby and to be led in some more songs.  At the end of each night the kids got to bring home their craft and other small trinkets that related to the evening.  Plus at the end of the week two lucky kids were drawn to take home a complete beach toy set.  In addition, giving back was a part of the week as the kids brought in supplies to donate to A.R.K (Animal Rehabilitation Keep) which assists marine life in Texas.  VBS was a great week of learning and fun for everyone involved!
