To kick off the new year, we will be beginning a new sermon series at Forest Park Christian Church this Sunday, January 8th, called The Things We Say. The series will be loosely based on the book Half Truths by Adam Hamilton. We will deal with things people say about God and to each other for the purpose of comfort that may actually have the opposite effect such as “Everything Happens For a Reason” which is the topic of the January 8th sermon. These sayings are very common in communities of faith, but where did they come from? How biblical are they? Are they based in the truth of God we know in Christ Jesus?
I am very excited about this series, and I hope that you will be intrigued and interested to go deeper in your faith journey alongside this wonderful church family!
