This is an important time in our church calendar because yesterday we held our Ash Wednesday service to mark the beginning of Lent. This is a time when we intentionally reconnect with God and God’s purposes for our lives.
These 40 days of Lent will be a journey that will take us through pain, joy, sorrow, and elation. We will walk with Jesus as he enters the city to shouts of “save us.” We will listen as he talks about betrayal while offering the bread of life and the cup of salvation. We will cry out in agony when he is ripped away from us and strung up on a cross. And we shall shout with joy and acclamation that HE HAS RISEN!
