This morning Forest Park Christian Church in Tulsa had a very informative and eye opening presentation about living with a guide dog presented by one of our own members and her dog, Kato. They showed all those in attendance how Kato is trained, how he signals and maneuvers and the equipment that he uses to work. The children and adults in attendance were treated to a live demonstration and were able to watch a video of how Kato and his owner navigate around her office and the surrounding area of downtown Tulsa. Everyone was given the opportunity to ask questions and the information provided gave a new perspective on what it’s like to be blind and use a guide dog. This was a wonderful opportunity to learn about and celebrate those whose life might be a little different than ours.
