Today Forest Park Christian Church in Tulsa hosted the first ever Turkey Tailgate.  The church sponsored Thanksgiving meals and lunch for 100 families working with the Tulsa area agency, James Mission.  Lunch consisted of pizza, fruit and cookies and was accompanied by live music. Lunch was followed by a chance to pick out a Thanksgiving dinner to take home.  Each family got to walk through tailgate style stations to pick out a turkey or ham and side items such as stuffing, macaroni and cheese, rolls, fresh and canned fruits and vegetables and cookie and cake mixes. There were balloons and popcorn for the kids and special family scripture cards provided by the church’s older youth.  Over 100 adult and youth volunteers assisted with the event from church members and attendees to friends and family and even the Union High School baseball team.  It was a great day for sharing a little love with those in our community!
